Travel by Train in Korea - Mukunghwa Ho Train and KORAIL Class 8200 Locomotive

We are travelling in South Korea. Our destinations are Andong and Busan. We went to Cheongnyangni station in Seoul to get on our Mugunghwa Ho train.

Inside Cheongnyangni station . We had to wait until the Mugunghwa train came.

This is our train. The KORAIL Class 8200 electric locomotive. Korail Class 8200 is a South Korean electric locomotive operated by the Korean national railroad operator Korail.

Mukunghwa-Ho train is slower than the KTX train but it is more affordable and you can get more nice views. This trains are absolutely my favorite when I travel by train in Korea

Another shot of the class 8200 locomotive .

This is a generator car. Generator cars are still widely used in Korea. They are used as a back power source just in case.

Cafetaria on the Mukunghwa train. This is something you can't see on the KTX . (KTX trains don't have cafe/dinning cars)

Arcade games. This is something you can see only on Mugunghwa-Ho trains. What an amazing Korean train.
